‘Tis the season – for sipping margaritas on White Rock Beach patios. If you’re visiting White Rock (less than an hour from Vancouver, BC), here are four of my favorite spots.
Zapoteca Mexican Grill
5495 Marine Drive, White Rock, BC V4B 1C9 (604) 536-6677
Zapoteca has a small patio on East Beach and serves the most delicious margaritas. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is sensational. Their nachos are to die for, and my daughter loves their shrimp tacos. I could live on their ceviche. This is not a typical Tex-Mex restaurant, their menu is based on Oaxacan regional cuisine.
The tortilla soup is served with the broth separate so the soup doesn’t lose its crunch before it reaches the table. Genius!
Charlie Don’t Surf
15011 Marine Dr White Rock, BC V4B 1C3 (604) 538-1988
Charlie Don’t Surf has been a local favorite for over 30 years. Located near the iconic pier and newly opened park, seats in their patio are a score especially during the free concerts across the street.
They have a terrific menu and a good variety of items for kids.
The Boathouse Restaurant
14935 Marine Drive, White Rock 604 536 7320
Mon/Thu: 11:30am to 10:00pm
Fri: 11:30am to 11:00pm
Sat/Sun: 10:00am to 11:00pm
The boathouse has one of the Best White Rock beach patios with a lovely ocean view. They have a big lunch brunch menu and a kids menu starting at $9.99
The happy hour menu at The Boathouse is pretty extensive and goes from 3-6pm Monday to Friday.
Uli’s
15023 Marine Drive. White Rock, BC, V4B 1C3 604-538-9373
Monday-Sunday – 11am-Late
Brunch – Saturday & Sunday 10am-4pm
This is a pricier option for the adults, but the kids menu is reasonable, and their appetizers are amazing. It may actually be a mistake to introduce your kids to the Bison Carpaccio at $21 a plate. You’ll have to fight them for a taste of it.
If you’re in the area, you should also check out Township7, a family friendly winery.
