If you’re looking for something fun and festive to take the kids to over the winter, check out Christmas Glow in Langley, the largest indoor Christmas festival in Greater Vancouver. They have playgrounds and interactive features to keep the kids entertained for hours, plus a Christmas market, food trucks, live entertainment, and tasty beverages for the grown ups from local breweries and wineries.
Disclosure: My family was hosted at Glow Christmas in exchange for my honest review of the event.
All this magical winter wonderland is (except the food trucks) inside an enormous greenhouse in Langley where you’re protected from our unpredictable, and often wet winter weather.
Last year we had a great time at Glow Christmas with my parents, my sister, and her two kids. That’s an age range of 7 to 69! The youngest members enjoyed the scavenger hunt in the dazzling light garden, and the delicious kid-friendly food (mac and cheese with bacon) and the rest of us got to do a little last minute Christmas Shopping in the Market and enjoy some live music with a glass of local wine.
The event has doubled in size since last year and this year we’re most excited about the new features, Glen the Glow-comotive, the LED Swings, and hopscotch!
We’re also planning on going early in the season so we can get a nice picture with Santa to send to friends and family. Or maybe have fun recreating one of our less awesome ones!
This is also a great opportunity to do a little Christmas shopping while supporting local artisans. Last year I even bought myself a gift – a box of local honeycomb, one of my favorite things to soothe a sore throat. We also have a tradition of buying a new tree ornament every year and the Christmas Market had a huge assortment.

To play, you need a reasonably flat surface, so unfortunately our garden isn’t ideal – it certainly adds a bit of jeopardy (and potential for arguments)
Really wish I could have gotten tickets for you Ontario show… come back to Canada
