If you’re heading to Disneyland, or Disneyworld you will likely have heard of Disney FastPass, but do you know how it works and when you can use it? Here are a few tips to make the most of the program.
Your entry ticket gives you FREE access to FastPass, so hang onto it, in fact tip number one is to make sure one adult in your group hangs onto all the tickets (at Disney World you use an app.)
FastPass is the free electronic/online system for booking rides at Disney World, Magic Kingdom, California Adventure, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios so that you can skip the lines (or wait in substantially shorter lines) for your favorite rides.
Plan your day, but stay flexible. There are a few rides that book up fast, like Radiator Springs Racers at California Adventure. When we were there we had about given up on trying to get on that ride, but when the Incredicoaster had an issue when we were about to board, we were given a bonus FastPass to use anywhere so we zipped over to Radiator Springs.
Timing Your Disney FastPass+
You are generally only able to book one FastPass at a time. The exceptions to this are if you use FastPass to book a show, or if you get a FastPass for an attraction that is booked out way ahead. For example, if Radiator Springs is letting you book a 6pm time at noon, you will be able to book another attraction at 2pm.
Get the Disneyland app so you can see the wait times at each ride. There will be times when you can get on a ride without needing a FastPass. It sometimes means jogging across the park, but it’s worth it.
If you pay $15 extra (per person) for MaxPass, you can use the Disneyland app to book your FastPasses.
