The weather outside is frightful! Thank goodness GLOW Christmas sets up their fun, family friendly event inside huge convention centers in Vancouver and Abbotsford. Open Dec 5 – Jan 4.

If you’re looking for something fun to do now that the rain has set in here in the lower mainland, Glow Christmas is for you. Last year we attended Enchant in Vancouver, and we all agreed that we preferred Glow!
The age range of our group is 9-71. The youngest members enjoyed the scavenger hunt in the light garden, and the rest of us got to do a little last minute Christmas Shopping in the Market.
There are a bunch of great spots to take photos throughout the light garden, and we took advantage of most of them.
My daughter spotted the Reel Mac And Cheese food truck as soon as we walked through the gate, but we all decided we’d walk through the light garden before eating. That may have been a mistake, because I heard the words mac and cheese every five minutes until we circled back to the food trucks. My sister’s kids only got partway through the lights before they headed back to get their dinner.
All three of the kids had to have the Italian soda in the souvenir light bulb shaped cup. I secretly wanted one too!
The mac and cheese was a hit. Vivi had hers with bacon, and my Dad was super adventurous and had the Godzilla – with nori, teriyaki sauce, and Japanese mayo. I had a cannoli for dinner from Cannoli King, and it was superb! My Mom and my niece had baked potatoes from Taters – The Baked Potato Company and they both raved about how good they were. We love food trucks, especially when the lines aren’t long, and it was so nice to be able to sit inside at a table and listen to live music while we ate.
Walking through the icicle forest was Vivi’s favorite thing. I enjoyed it too, though it made me a little dizzy – in a house of mirrors kind of way. I also got inspiration for next year’s Christmas Tree decor in the Garden Center, and my daughter, the aspiring designer, was particularly delighted by this unusual tree:
