5 Travel Blogs I Love

I love to travel, I love to write about travel, so it should be no surprise that I love to read about travel. The writers of these five travel blogs are true travel influencers, and are a constant source of inspiration and if I’m honest – some degree of envy!

The Points Guy is a travel hacking pioneer who has been publishing travel advice and points and miles guides since 2010. Brian Kelly now has a team of staff writers and freelance contributors who publish up to 20 articles a day.  They cover news, reviews, great travel deals, guides, loyalty programs, credit cards, and more.

Dave’s Travel Corner promotes experiential travel and founder Dave is a big proponent of valuing experiences over things, something I’m passionate about too. The website was inspired by a travel journal written in 1996 during life-changing trip to Nepal.

The Blonde Abroad is written by Kiersten, a California native, who left a career in corporate finance to travel the world. You’ll be surprised to learn how she got started. When she realized that travel was her passion and priority, she figured out that she could live with less.  She gave up her apartment in LA, gym membership and all beauty services, moved the rest of her belongings into her parents’ home and started traveling, living on about $50 a day for the first 3 years.

The Planet D – Dave and Deb live by the motto “Adventure is for Everyone”.  This is a couple that truly inspire me because they are not millennials – they are a Canadian couple who are rocking midlife and encouraging others to achieve their goals and fulfill their dreams.

Adventurous Kate quit her job in 2010 at the age of 26 to travel Southeast Asia for six months. During that trip she started her blog and by halfway through 2011 she had nearly replaced a full time income. 5 years and 65 countries later, she has slowed down and is now traveling just 25% of the year.

Research Your Next Trip With Travel Blogs

If you google travel blogs, you’ll find over 73 million results. There are a lot of us doing it.  Some are hobbyists, some are making a killing at it. Storybased influencer marketing has really taken off in the past few years and brands now rely on this new kind of word of mouth advertising to reach consumers.

Travel blogs are the place to look for recent information on the destinations you’re interested in.

Enjoy and feel free to share links to blogs you love in the comments!
