Have you ever had a family travel nightmare? We have, and ever since I’m more prepared with travel essentials.
We arrived in Palm Springs the day of one of their worst flash floods. Our friend who was supposed to pick us up lost her car in the flood (yeah, her day was way worse than ours). We ended up spending 8 hours at the Palm Springs airport waiting. We checked with taxi drivers, but they told us it was pointless since the part of town we were heading to was completely cut off by high water. We were finally rescued by a friend, and then another friend fed us dinner and handed me a bag of groceries so I wouldn’t have to shop before breakfast. ?
